Glenn Danzig Inks Deal to Create Film Based on His Comic Books

August 10, 2018 | by James Greene, Jr.

"Sure, Thanos is great, but when will the characters from Glenn Danzig's Verotik universe get the cinematic treatment?"

A question posed by many for what feels like centuries. Now, the wait is over. Cleopatra Entertainment, a division of Cleopatra Records, has brokered a deal for Glenn Danzig to write, direct, and score an anthology film based around creations from his Verotik comic book line. Principle photography will begin this fall, but no word yet on when the film will be released or which characters Glenn will be including in this motion picture. For what it's worth, we think Carly Rae Jepsen would make a wonderful Grub Girl.

Verotik was launched in 1994 as a "mature themed" comic, chock full of sexual imagery and graphic violence. You know, a lot like a Danzig album. Glenn Danzig's most recent foray into the visual arts was a 2016 guest shot on "Portlandia."
