Happy Birthday to Cake's "Motorcade of Generosity"

February 7, 2019 | by James Greene, Jr.

On this date 25 years ago, tongue-in-cheek alterna-clowns Cake released their debut record Motorcade of Generosity. Chauncey Hollingsworth panned it as "uninspired" in the Chicago Tribune, but that didn't stop the deadpan commentary of "Rock 'n' Roll Lifestyle" from becoming a sleeper hit. Thanks, Cake, for really stickin' it to the kids!
