A Guitarist You Should Know: Nick Reinhart of Tera Melos

Earlier this year, Consequence of Sound had the tip on an emerging supergroup featuring members of Minutemen, Wilco, Deerhoof, and Tera Melos. The band is called Big Walnuts Yonder and they reside on the Sargent House label. This Friday, May 5th, they'll release their self-titled debut album.

Nick Reinhart of Tera Melos can shred, and if you care about such things (yes, c'mon, you do), then the above video is a great place to start with this modern-day virtuoso. Reinhart works in peddles and his own brand of Northern California-drenched math rock (that's my best description, anyway).

The YouTube comments alone are reason enough to dig in there (my particular favorite being "Subtitle: If Polvo had money to buy stompboxes"). But seriously, if you don't know Nick, prepare thy mind to be blown.
