New Album Due this Spring for Mount Eerie, Listen to Single "Distortion"

This post was supposed to go up yesterday, but upon learning of a new lead track release off of Mount Eerie's upcoming album Now Only, I sorta fell into a rabbit hole of YouTube videos of Mount Eerie tracks and Geneviève Castrée live performances. It's pretty difficult to look at that photo above and not reel for a bit.

"Distortion" is 11-minutes long and picks up where last year's A Crow Looked at Me left off... musings about his late wife. Now Only (due out March 16) is going to feature more songs about Castrée's death and their life together, intimate songs giving oxygen to the flame of remembrance. In fact, six of the record's songs were written after the release of A Crow Looked at Me and Phil Elverum's live performances of those intense songs of heartache.
