For a while now, digital artists have been twisting the already pretty funny Superintendent Chalmers/Principal Skinner vignette from the 1996 "Simpsons" episode "22 Short Films About Springfield" into vivid and hilarious fever dreams — see "Steamed Hams but it's in Twin Peaks" or "Steamed Hams but it's on VHS and when someone says 'steam' or 'ham' it suffers from generation loss." This is, of course, just a pocket of a wider phenomenon known as Simpson Shitposting, where people re-mix famous moments from the ever-popular animated sitcom so they are purposely bad or nonsensical. Eventually you'll be able to major in Simpsons Shitposting, and why not? It's an utterly fascinating trend.
Earlier this month YouTube user NPCarlsson dropped Steamed Hams as a full-length parody of the Gorillaz song "Feel Good Inc." This creation is so delightfully dizzying it might signal the absolute zenith of the Steamed Hams meme.
And yet, it was only in February that we believed no Steamed Hams meme could top "Steamed Hams but it's All Star." Perhaps "Steamed Hams Inc." will be bested soon enough. Imagine if they kept building Great Walls of China, each one better than the last. That is the age we are currently living through and we should be oh so grateful.
