DeGreaser is a band hardly afraid to tow the line between Judas Priest metal and pop punk, a musical blend that may chafe some folks. WELL, we're into these cats' well-executed crossing over of two seemingly discordant genres. The band is lead by Ben Katzman (also BUFU label owner that touts releases from Tall Juan and Japanther), and they've been working on a record and touring the U.S. including Puerto Rico. Mad credit to anyone who starts their own label to do things on their terms.

Their new single “Kindess Is Hot” (as well as their upcoming LP) was produced by Colleen Green, and the stoney indie-pop mainstay shows up on backing vocals for this song about the perils of the dating game.

DeGreaser's feet are firmly planted to rock, with plenty of riffage, punk ethos, and this tidy 1:53 minute message stressing there's no need to be a dick. Annnd how.
