Weezer Drop New Single From "The Black Album," Announce Tour w/ Pixies
October 11, 2018 | by James Greene, Jr.
"The Black Album era has arrived," Weezer announced via Twitter today, confirming a new color and new record for their semi-rainbowish discography. Though no release date has been offered yet the group did premiere the video for The Black Album's first single, "Can't Knock the Hustle." The clip stars Fallout Boy's Pete Wentz but don't let that distract you from lyrics like "you can write a blog about it" and "I never learned how to roll a joint."
Weezer has also announced another tour with their ancestors the Pixies for Spring 2019, kicking off at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Kentucky. Full dates below.
Will Weezer's The Black Album be a commercial juggernaut like Jay-Z's Black Album or will it be pulled just before release due to an alleged evil aura like Prince's Black Album? Only time will tell. There's one thing you can count on, though — people who were 15 when the first Weezer disc dropped will be griping that this band just ain't what it used to be.
