On This Day: December 20, 1968 Tiny Tim Appears on Annual Beatles Christmas Record

December 20, 2018 | by Jocelyn Hoppa

If you were part of The Beatles fan club back in 1968, you'd be pretty stoked because on this day of December 20 their annual Christmas record was shipped out to members all across the U.S. and U.K. This round included Tiny Tim singing "Nowhere Man" in his unmistakable upper register... but wait. Can it actually be mistook?

Though it's noted that George Harrison recorded with Tiny Tim in "New York," at least one commenter on YouTube challenges this notion — and is temporarily believable because The Beatles have been known to pull a prank or two. Even if that dude is dead wrong, his penchant for conspiracy theory prompted me to imagine that perhaps Lennon was putting on his best Tiny Tim impression. Merry Christmas, indeed.
