Was James Brown Murdered? New Investigation Digs Up Lots of Questions

February 6, 2019 | by Angela Zimmerman

Twelve years after James Brown was pronounced dead at age 73 on Christmas Day, 2006, some friends and family of the late soul singer bring credible concerns around the circumstances surrounding his death. Though cause of death was officially cited as due to "congestive heart failure, resulting from complications of pneumonia," people close to Brown have called for his body to be exhumed for an autopsy, believing there was foul play involved. Dr. Marvin Crawford, who treated him at the Atlanta hospital, doubts he died from natural causes, asking, "What went wrong in that room?"

In a new three-part series, CNN investigates not only Brown's death, but also the 1996 death of his third wife Adrienne Brown, and other allegations of misconduct by Brown himself and some of his friends and associates.

It's a crazy story take delves into several decades of Brown's life (could definitely see Netflix turning it into a miniseries). I encourage you to read through CNN's extensive reporting. If/when new details emerge we will update this story.
